Paul G. Levy, retired Appellate division judge, has become counsel to Schragger, Schragger & Lavine, LLC.
Judge Levy is a trained professional mediator. After retiring from the bench in 2000, he was recalled by the Appellate Division and worked until 2005 as a mediator in the Civil Appeals Settlement Program. Today he specializes in private dispute resolution, as well as litigation consultation involving appellate and general equity matters. Judge Levy served more than twenty-five years on the Superior Court of New Jersey.
A graduate of Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, he was law clerk to Hon. Nathan L. Jacobs, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of New Jersey. In addition to writing hundreds of opinions for the courts, from 1985 through 1993 Judge Levy taught Advanced Computer Uses for Judges at the National Judicial College. He developed a computerized case management system for the General Equity Division in 1986 and was a member of the AOC’s Information Technology Committee.
Judge Levy is past chair of the American Jewish Committee of Central New Jersey and past vice-president of the Urban League of Metropolitan Trenton. He is the captain of the U.S. Veterans International Fencing Team.
