James A. Schragger, the third generation of the family to practice with the firm, joined Schragger, Schragger & Lavine, LLC in 1990. An alumnus of Haverford College and cum laude graduate of Boston University School of Law, he served as Law Secretary to the Honorable James A. Petrella, Presiding Judge of the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court, and as Assistant Counsel to New Jersey Governors Thomas H. Kean and James J. Florio. He served as Counsel to the Mercer County Board of Social Services and as an adjunct professor in the paralegal program at Mercer County Community College.
Mr. Schragger concentrates his practice in administrative law, cooperative, condominium and association law, health care, general corporate practice, estate planning and elder law, zoning, planning, and land use. Mr. Schragger is a court-approved mediator. He also served on the Supreme Court Civil Practice Commitee.
He is active in the community as an emeritus member of the board of the Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Greater Mercer County; and served on the Board of the Planned Parenthood Association of the Mercer Area, Inc. and the United Jewish Federation of Princeton Mercer Bucks. Jim is currently a board member of the Hopewell Valley Historical Society where he served as treasurer. He was recently elected to the board of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Mercer.
